Hi all.

I’ve done a search on this topic and came across a particularly useful thread HERE.

My main concerns are not the same as the OP’s and it would appear that the situation has changed since that article was written.

I’m finally considering upgrading to Vista x64 (ultimate) from XP. For audio I have an Audigy 2ZS running in 5.1 mode with analog output to a Klipsch Promedia 5.1 setup. I use the computer audio for games, misc, some video work, TV and media watching.

It looks like Daniel Kawakami has stopped working on his stuff as referenced HERE. It looks like Creative has made ALchemy free and released new drivers 2.18.0001 recently.

I feel reasonably confident that I’m going to get sound with the Creative drivers, but I figure I will not have the EAX and THX calibration utilities and things like that. I was actually running calibrated because my seating position is not perfectly centered in the speakers. I care less about CMSS3D and the like, but did like the surround mixer and control panels. I do want hardware DD, DTS, EAX. Effects and DVD-Audio are nice, since it does it under XP, but not of primary importance.

What’s the best thing to do TODAY to get as much functionality out of my 2ZS in Vista x64 as possible?

Thanks!
